KeyFinder Plus is a lightweight utility developed by Top Password Software designed to automatically scan, decrypt, and recover lost product keys. It can extract licenses for Windows, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, SQL Server, and various other installed programs. How to Use KeyFinder Plus
The program offers three distinct modes to recover your licenses depending on the operational status of your computer: 1. Recovering Keys from Your Current System
Use this method if your computer is fully functional and you simply need to document your activation keys before formatting or upgrading.
Download and Install: Download the installation package from the Top Password Website and run the setup wizard.
Launch and Scan: Open the program. Click the Start Recovery button.
Select Mode: Choose From current system from the drop-down menu.
Save Your Data: The tool will instantly display your 25-character Windows license and other software keys. Click Save or Print to back them up securely. 2. Recovering Keys from a Non-Booting System
Use this method if your computer has crashed, but you have connected its unbootable hard drive to a secondary, working computer as an external drive.
Open Recovery Options: Launch the software on the working PC and click Start Recovery.
Target the Dead Drive: Choose From non-booting system from the menu.
Locate the Registry Hive: Click the ”…” button in the pop-up dialog box.
Find the Config Folder: Browse to the external drive and navigate to Windows\System32\Config.
Select Software File: Select the file named SOFTWARE (this houses your local registry keys) and click OK. The program will extract and display the licenses from the broken machine. 3. Recovering Keys from a Remote Computer
Use this method if you are an administrator looking to retrieve a product key over a local network.
Select Remote Mode: Click Start Recovery and choose From remote computer.
Enter Credentials: Provide the target computer’s network IP address alongside the required domain administrator credentials.
Fetch Keys: Click OK to pull the digital license data remotely. Free Built-In Alternative (No Third-Party Software)
If you only need your Windows OEM license (pre-installed by manufacturers like Dell or HP) and prefer not to download third-party software, you can pull it instantly using native Windows tools: Microsoft Community Hub Recover and find Windows 10 product key on my computer
